Top Reasons to Take the PADI Rescue Course Komodo

Many divers say the PADI Rescue Course Komodo is both the most challenging and the most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. It teaches you how to prevent and manage problems in the water while boosting your confidence as a diver—knowing you can assist others when it matters most.

Throughout the course, you’ll develop strong problem-solving skills and become a more reliable dive buddy. Training is serious and focused, yet still filled with moments of fun and laughter as you learn through realistic scenarios.

Before starting your in-water training, you must complete the Emergency First Response Course. This takes just one day and isn’t required if you’ve already completed it within the last 24 months. Share your details with us and we’ll handle the rest.

Your diving journey began with the Open Water Course, followed by the Advanced Open Water Course, where you expanded your skills. The PADI Rescue Course Komodo takes you to the next level, transforming how you see diving. You’ll start thinking beyond yourself, becoming more aware of other divers and your role in keeping the dive environment safer.

This mindset shift is challenging but incredibly rewarding—and it often carries into your everyday life. You’ll gain the confidence to face new situations, sharpen your awareness underwater, and perhaps even prevent potential emergencies. And if an emergency occurs, you’ll know exactly how to respond. The first aid and CPR skills you learn may one day help you save a life.

Despite the serious lessons, the course is genuinely fun. You’ll tackle new scenarios, share laughs with your instructor and classmates, and create unforgettable memories as you grow into a more capable, confident diver.

Why This Course Matters?

Rescue Course Komodo: Your Skills Can Save Lives

Many divers feel a bit nervous before starting the PADI Rescue Course Komodo—and that’s completely normal. It’s a bigger step up from your Advanced certification, but absolutely achievable at your own pace. Your instructor will never push you beyond your comfort level. Some divers take the course with 30 dives, others with 50—the key is being confident in your own skills.

Good buoyancy is essential, as you’ll need to manage both your own and a victim’s buoyancy. If you want extra practice, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty is a great way to fine-tune your control. Feeling a little anxious is perfectly fine—you’ll feel incredibly accomplished once you earn your Rescue Diver certification.

Before enrolling in the PADI Rescue Course Komodo, make sure your Emergency First Response (or equivalent) certification is valid within the last 24 months. If not, you’ll need a refresher. And if you don’t have EFR yet, we’ve got you covered with a special EFR + Rescue Combo package. Contact us for details.

The Rescue Diving course was fantastic. Learned a lot and the scenarios were realistic and practical.

10/10 dive company. I was looking to do a marine conservation course and Legend had 2 that looked super interesting. I spent a week diving with them and they were so helpful from organising transport and my arrival to making sure everything was set up, very professional staff and dive guides. I felt extremely safe the whole week and if I had any troubles they helped immediately. I really felt like it was somewhere I could come back to and do further courses such as Rescue and DM. Huge shoutout to Trent for making the whole program super enjoyable, loved learning about different mantas, sharks, turtles and learning about coral restoration and identification. This experience has made me fall in love with diving even more than I did. Definitely recommend to anyone.

Awesome dive shop! I did my Rescue Diver here and went on a few recreational dives as well. The crew is competent, kind and fun to be around :)
