PADI Divemaster Course Komodo – Training Structure
During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll train in comfortable, purpose-built facilities including two air-conditioned classrooms, a spacious on-site swimming pool, and a relaxed bar/lounge area to unwind after a full day of learning and diving.
Your instructors will provide continuous guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program. You’re encouraged to ask questions and dive deeper into any topic that sparks your interest. By the end of your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll develop strong professional skills—from fish identification to understanding complex reef currents.
The 3 Core Elements of Your Divemaster Program
When you enroll in the PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll receive your Divemaster manual containing 9 theory chapters. Each chapter includes a Knowledge Review, which you’ll complete and discuss with your mentor. You’ll also join multimedia presentations, classroom workshops, and additional learning sessions that go beyond the standard PADI curriculum—designed to give you an even more well-rounded professional foundation.
During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, a large part of your training focuses on building strong water skills. Most of this development takes place in the pool with your dedicated Divemaster mentor. You’ll start with a simple swim assessment to determine your comfort and baseline level in the water.
From there, you’ll learn, practice, and ultimately master the full PADI 24-skill circuit, which is a key requirement in becoming a confident and capable Divemaster. Several elements of your waterskills training will also take place in open water to ensure you’re fully prepared for real-life scenarios. For example, rescue exercises are practiced in realistic ocean conditions—so reviewing your Rescue Diver techniques beforehand is highly recommended.

Typical Day During Your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo
Although every training day can shift with ocean conditions, guest schedules, and your progress, we follow a structure that helps all Divemaster candidates grow together. Below is a look at what an average day usually feels like during your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo.
Let’s Start the Day!
05:30 – 06:30 AM –
Arrive at the harbour before guests. You’ll check and prepare equipment, load the boat with tanks, food, oxygen, and assist with general setup. Your mentor will brief you on your tasks for the day.
07:00 AM –
Guests arrive. You’ll welcome them, offer coffee/tea/water, help with wetsuits, and—depending on your training level—deliver parts of the daily dive plan briefing.
07:30 – 09:00 AM –
Board our double deck fiberglass vessel and head toward the day’s dive sites often in the Central or North part of Komodo. Use the ride to prep and connect with fellow divers.
09:30 AM –
Dives 1 & 2: You will usually participate in 2 to 3 dives per day. This includes assisting instructors with students, or leading/shadowing dives with certified guests.
12:30 – 14:00 PM –
Surface Interval & Lunch: Lunch is served on the boat between dives. As a Divemaster candidate, you’ll assist the crew with serving food and helping divers switch gear. This time is used for surface interval, relaxing, and discussing the dive, often with marine life spotting.
14:00 – 16:00 PM –
Dive 3 & Return: A third dive is completed, often a lighter drift dive or a visit to a manta spot. The boat travels back to Labuan Bajo in the late afternoon.
Welcome Back to Shore!
16:00 – 17:30 PM –
Gear Wash & Cleanup in the boat then help unload the boat and return equipment to the operational building if needed.
17:30 – 19:00 PM –
Back to the shop, you may have additional Divemaster workshops or tasks planned—check your schedule. If you’re free, explore the island with your fellow candidates.

Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes circumstances prevent you from completing your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo. If you’re unable to finish the program, we will refund the remaining portion of your course that has not yet been completed.
Absolutely not. During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, our focus is on developing skilled, confident, and professional dive leaders—not using candidates as unpaid labor. Your internship is built around learning, mentorship, and hands-on training. While you’ll assist with PADI courses, guide underwater tours, and support daily operations, every task is designed to enhance your skills and prepare you for a real career in diving.
Our PADI Divemaster Course Komodo runs year-round, allowing you to start whenever it suits your schedule. To reserve your place, we require a 40% deposit. Payments can be made online by credit card (3% bank fee applies). The remaining balance can be settled at the dive center in cash or by credit card.
Yes. During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo internship, you will have at least one scheduled day off per week. If you need additional personal time, we can arrange extra days off when needed.
