Inside your Training

PADI Divemaster Course Komodo – Training Structure

During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll train in comfortable, purpose-built facilities including two air-conditioned classrooms, a spacious on-site swimming pool, and a relaxed bar/lounge area to unwind after a full day of learning and diving.

Your instructors will provide continuous guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program. You’re encouraged to ask questions and dive deeper into any topic that sparks your interest. By the end of your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll develop strong professional skills—from fish identification to understanding complex reef currents.

The 3 Core Elements of Your Divemaster Program

When you enroll in the PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll receive your Divemaster manual containing 9 theory chapters. Each chapter includes a Knowledge Review, which you’ll complete and discuss with your mentor. You’ll also join multimedia presentations, classroom workshops, and additional learning sessions that go beyond the standard PADI curriculum—designed to give you an even more well-rounded professional foundation.

During your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, a large part of your training focuses on building strong water skills. Most of this development takes place in the pool with your dedicated Divemaster mentor. You’ll start with a simple swim assessment to determine your comfort and baseline level in the water.

From there, you’ll learn, practice, and ultimately master the full PADI 24-skill circuit, which is a key requirement in becoming a confident and capable Divemaster. Several elements of your waterskills training will also take place in open water to ensure you’re fully prepared for real-life scenarios. For example, rescue exercises are practiced in realistic ocean conditions—so reviewing your Rescue Diver techniques beforehand is highly recommended.

During the PADI Divemaster Course Komodo, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to apply everything you’ve learned. This phase of your training allows you to put both your theory knowledge and water skills into real-world scenarios.

Before completing the course, you’ll assist instructors with PADI programs, guide divemaster-authorized activities, and help manage day-to-day dive operations. This is often the most enjoyable part of the training, as you gain hands-on experience working with students and certified divers alike. It’s where everything comes together and you truly start to feel like a professional.

This not only elevates your professionalism but also prepares you to succeed in dive operations anywhere in the world. At Legend, our Divemaster program goes far beyond the basic PADI requirements. We focus on real skill mastery, genuine dedication, and hands-on experience — not simply checking boxes or paying fees to earn a certification.

A Little Head Start!

Typical Day During Your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo

Although every training day can shift with ocean conditions, guest schedules, and your progress, we follow a structure that helps all Divemaster candidates grow together. Below is a look at what an average day usually feels like during your PADI Divemaster Course Komodo.

Let’s Start the Day!

07:00 AM –
Arrive at the dive center one hour before guests. You’ll check and prepare equipment, load the boat with tanks, food, oxygen, and assist with general setup. Your mentor will brief you on your tasks for the day.

08:00 AM –
Guests arrive. You’ll welcome them, offer coffee/tea/water, help with wetsuits, and—depending on your training level—deliver parts of the daily dive plan briefing.

09:00 AM –
Board one of our fast boats and head toward the day’s dive sites. Let’s use Manta Point as an example. Use the ride to prep and connect with fellow divers.

09:30 AM –
Arrive at Manta Point. Gear up and enjoy a back-roll entry into a world of graceful Manta rays.

10:45 AM –
Dive 1 complete. Time for a one-hour surface interval with snacks, lunch, and drinks. As a Divemaster candidate, you’ll assist the crew with serving food and helping divers switch gear.

12:00 PM –
Head to Crystal Bay for the second dive. With a short boat ride, it’s time for a chance encounter with the elusive Mola.

13:00 PM –
Dive 2 complete. Begin the journey back to the dive center.

Welcome Back to Shore!

13:30 PM –
Help unload the boat and return equipment to the center for rinsing and drying. After that, join guests to assist with logbooks.

14:00 PM –
Once the guests head home and the gear is hung up, it’s break time. You may have additional Divemaster workshops or tasks planned—check your schedule. If you’re free, explore the island with your fellow candidates.

As you progress toward becoming a PADI Professional, having your own scuba gear becomes essential. Before starting your training, it’s completely normal not to know which equipment best suits your needs—after all, the options can feel overwhelming. That’s why we make things simple and stress-free.
Our Divemaster Course Indonesia provides two convenient equipment solutions:

Option 1: Rent a full set of scuba equipment from us for the entire duration of your course.
Option 2: Purchase your personal gear through us and enjoy an exclusive 10% discount on trusted brands like Aqualung, Mares, and ScubaPro.

INCREDIBLE DIVE CENTER. The staff were exceptional. I did my divemaster training and the only thing I wish is to be able to do it all over again. Huge shoutout to Julio for his expertise, training, knowledge, guidance and wisdom. He truly made the experience an unforgettable one and made each person feel recognized and valuable. He takes tremendous care and pride in what he does. We became a little family. I would recommend Legend over and over again.
