Discover Scuba Diving Komodo Course Structure

The Discover Scuba Diving program is the perfect introduction for anyone curious about scuba diving. This one-day experience includes two dives and allows you to safely discover what it feels like to breathe and move underwater. The best part? You can experience these first dives with us right in the beautiful waters of Komodo National Park.

While it is not a certification course, many guests choose to continue their training afterward by upgrading to the Open Water Course if they fall in love with diving.

Your Day on the Water

Your adventure begins aboard our unique two-storey fiberglass boat, cruising between the stunning islands of Komodo. During the journey, your instructor will introduce you to the scuba equipment, safety rules, and basic diving concepts.

The experience is carefully structured to help you feel comfortable and confident before exploring deeper waters.

Your First Dives

Your first dive begins in shallow water, where you will practice a few simple skills and get comfortable breathing underwater. Once you feel confident, you will continue exploring the reef.

During the Discover Scuba Diving program, the maximum depth is 12 meters, and all dives are conducted under the close supervision of a professional instructor.

You will then enjoy a second dive exploring Komodo’s vibrant reefs, surrounded by colorful corals and fascinating marine life.

Participation Requirements

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, participants must:

  • Complete a medical questionnaire
  • Be comfortable in the water

no-fly time before traveling by airplane.

For guests who are not confident swimmers, we recommend booking a private instructor for additional comfort and safety during the dives. This option is available for an additional fee.
